Connor's First Birthday!

Connor turned 1 on Thursday 4/17!  He had lots of fun celebrating with family and friends on Thursday and at his party on Saturday!

On Wednesday, Grandma Cathy came down from Minnesota to spend a week with us - what a fun time we had with her!

On Thursday, Connor went to the doctor for his 12 month check-up and he's now 21 pounds!  He wasn't able to get his shots because he had a fever - what a great birthday gift from the nurse! :)  We celebrated Connor's actual birthday at El Jinete mexican restaurant- a Slagle family favorite for years.  Connor loved his chicken quesadilla, rice, and cupcake... but not the hat they put on him of course!
Here are some pictures of his actual 1st birthday:
The day started out a bit rough - CRABBY pants!!

He's starting to turn into a climber...

He decided he would rather push the box around than open and play with his new truck!

Maybe he's mad we wouldn't let him have a margarita?  20 more years, buddy :)

Not sure what to think!!

Of course he loved his first cupcake!

Friday, Pop Pop came down from Minnesota and we loved getting to catch up and hang out with him too!

On Saturday, we hosted family and friends for Connor's Nautical themed birthday party!  He was a little under the weather but a trooper with everyone around.  He's developed some "stranger danger" lately and seems to be unpredictable with who he does/doesn't like!  Connor had an anchor smash cake all to himself and was not into getting all dirty with it.  However, he loved the ice cream that came with it!  Naturally, he was more excited about the wrapping paper and bows than what was actually in his presents :)

Sunday, we celebrated Easter with our families - but that's the next blog post... when I get around to it!  Things are a bit crazy here with putting our house on the market and lots of orders to complete for The Orange Monogram!

Also - a bit late... but as of TODAY, 4/23, Connor is officially a walker!!  Grandma Cathy spent lots of time "coaching" (as she calls it) him to walk while she was here.  Sure enough, I drop her off at the airport and when I get home, he decides to walk across the whole living room - and didn't stop until he went to bed!  I guess it just took him a bit to digest her teaching methods :)

Here's a video of him walking... sorry it's so blurry!:

  1. It's official -- I don't need children. I love this little guy like he was my own. So proud he's walking. So so SO proud.

    Love,
