11 Months!

Connor turned 11 months on St. Patrick's Day!  It's incredible how much he has grown over the past 11 months and I'm amazed that his 1st birthday is next month - wow!!  He keeps himself very busy these days - crawling up the stairs, walking around the furniture, and throwing food overboard for Mattie.  He seems to enjoy getting into things that he shouldn't - especially things around the TV or on low shelves.  We've had to remove just about everything up to 3 feet from the ground!
When I had my cast and couldn't move, he seemed to get very bored being in the living room all day.  Now that I'm in a walking boot, we have been out and about a lot more and he seems to really enjoy the outside stimulation!
He recently figured out how to use his sippy cup (finally!) and now he won't put it down!

At 11 months, Connor loves:
* Bananas, toast, quesadillas, yogurt, cheerios, goldfish, blueberries
* Wagon rides outside
* Being outside in general
* Saying "ut-oh"

He dislikes:
* Most veggies
* Loud noises - vacuum, hair dryer, etc.
* Having his diaper changed

Here are a few pictures we took to show his progress at 11 months:

**These were near impossible to take :)

We are excited that it has started to feel like spring around here in Georgia - our neighborhood pool should open in May so I'm sure we will spend a lot of our summer there!

Outdoor Baby!

Hallelujah - the weather is finally nice!!  Lately, all Connor wants to do is go outside.  When he's inside, he constantly pulls himself up by the window and cries as he looks outside.  When Keith gets home each day, we take him on a wagon ride around the neighborhood and he seems to really enjoy it!  With my foot in a walking boot (yay, no more cast!), I can only do short walks for now but Connor seems to love any time he gets outside!

Here are some photos from his first wagon ride:

Last weekend, Keith and I went to a wedding so Connor got to spend the night at Grandma and Grandpa's house.  They took some great photos of him outside in his car:

Grandma Linda also sent us a photo from Mrs. Johnston's birthday beach party from when Grandma Cathy was in town:

Connor has also become very adventurous inside... he is keeping us on our feet!  He can now climb up the stairs faster than I can - yikes!  Time for the next step in baby proofing! :)

*Please forgive his not matching outfit - daddy dressed him!

10 Months!

Yes - I'm a bit late posting this... sorry!  Things have been a bit hectic around here lately.  Connor has recovered from RSV and has been a very happy little guy lately. I'm still in a cast for two more weeks so we've been spending lots of time with my mom, as she is here to help out!  Since the weather has been so nice, Connor has enjoyed many walks with Grandma Cathy and Mattie!

Connor turned 10 months on Monday!  He is just such a funny little guy.  He loves chasing balls around, laughing, babbling, turning the volume up/down on the TV, eating waffles, and knocking around his toys.

He still doesn't like the vacuum, eating green beans or peas (do you blame him?), or getting his diaper changed.

Here are some photos to show his growth at 10 months:

Snyder Ski Trip to Colorado!

We just got back from a fun-filled trip with my family to Breckenridge, Colorado!  In order to avoid the snowstorm in Atlanta, the 3 of us headed out a day early and spent 2 days in Denver.  Thank God for my knee scooter that got me around with my torn ligament/cast :)

On the airplane ride to Colorado, Connor slept for 2 hours and spent the other 1.5 hours pulling things out of the seat pocket and talking.  On the airplane back to Atlanta, he didn't sleep one wink and had a blast talking to everyone on the plane (pretty loud - oops)!

My parents rented an awesome home in Breckenridge and we had tons of fun.  Connor spent a lot of time with Grandma Cathy, Tanner, Taylor, and myself in the house while everyone else skied the slopes.  What a bummer to be in such a beautiful ski town and not be able to ski, but we made our own fun!  Connor spent a lot of his time sitting and watching his cousins run around and playing with their toys!

Here are some pictures from our trip!

Connor loved playing with Tanner's "Monster Truck"

The boys made a huge sledding hill

We celebrated Pop Pop's birthday a bit early!

Grandma, Pop Pop, and 3 of the 4 grandkids (we missed you, Charlie!)

Playing in the snow!

We played lots of foosball!

Everyone that was able to make the trip - Pop Pop, Grandma, Connor, Candace, Keith, Courtney, Chad, David, Brandon, Courtney, Tanner, and Taylor

Now that we're back in Marietta, we are adjusting back to life with no sickness and a bum foot.  We are so thankful that my mom is coming to town tomorrow to help us while I'm still in a cast!

Rough Week

To say that we've had a rough week is a understatement!

Connor got diagnosed with bronchialitis and RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus), which is a bad respiratory infection where it's hard for him to breathe, lasts a while, and is extremely contagious.  Speaking of contagious, Keith and I both caught it (which is equivalent to a bad cold for an adult) and have been sick, weak, and tired for a few days.  Did I mention that I ruptured a ligament in my ankle at my tennis match on Sunday?  Yep - 12 weeks total recovery... 3 weeks in a (pink, or course) cast and 9 weeks in various casts/walking boots after.  Oh - and we're going to Colorado on a ski trip this week - no skiing for this girl :(

Let's just say that this is not ideal when you have an adventurous 9.5 month old :)

On the bright side, Keith's mom has helped out a bunch and my mom will be coming down in a couple of weeks to help out as well.

Since I'm immobile, I figured I would update the blog - so here are some pictures that we took before our not-so-great week:

Daddy taught him how to crawl up the stairs - ut-oh!!

Snow Baby!

Connor is constantly on the move these days.

We went to the doctor for his 9 month check-up and they said that he needs more fat in his diet so now in addition to his normal baby food and bottles he gets yogurt, macaroni and cheese, waffles, and anything else he can pick up.  His current favorite food is waffles - he gobbles them right up!  We have also learned a new trick when he doesn't want to eat... if you sing him "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" he will eat until you stop!  No other songs work - just that one... needless to say, mommy and daddy are a bit sick of this song!

I think it's safe to say that he hates peas:

Connor plays so hard that he falls asleep right away.  He loves walking with his walker... he will do this for hours on end... which is a workout for all involved because he gets himself stuck in corners and can't reverse so you have to chase him around... I guess this is a sign of what's to come - yikes!

Here is a video of him with his walker:

Earlier today, when Keith was playing with Connor, he wouldn't stop making this hilarious sound when Keith tickled his chin:

Here in Atlanta, we had a BIG snowstorm (aka 2-3 inches), which is a BIG deal in Atlanta.  So, naturally, we took Connor outside to play!  He is a seasoned veteran with the snow since he spent Christmas vacation in Minnesota... so we made due with our resourches in ATL!  Keith took him "sledding" outside in a laundry basket with a dog leash pulling it... they obviously don't sell sleds in the south :)

Here are some pictures of "Snowpocalypse 2014"

We hope you and your family/friends stayed safe during this crazy winter week!!

Today made me very thankful that Keith has the flexibility to work from home and that I am able to be a stay-at-home mom with Connor!  The perks of starting my own embroidery business (The Orange Monogram) out of our home is another plus!!
