35 weeks into the pregnancy and I'm limited in what I can do... after bring on my feet for 8-10 hours at work, I get home and am completely exhausted and in need of a bubble bath. So what about days I have off? I've gotten back into my sorority crafting days and experimented with some Do-It-Yourself baby items from my favorite site, Pinterest!
First project - burp cloths! The ones you buy at any baby store are super thin and don't feel like they will absorb much spit-up. These are awesome and absorbent!
Up next - I'm going to make a blanket for Connor out of these two adorable fabrics... I'm a little nervous because it will be a bit harder than the burp cloths because one fabric is super stretchy and is hard to align.
As for Connor and me, I am extremely ready for him to be here! The restless nights, back aches, strangers touching my stomach, indigestion, itchy skin, swollen feet, etc. are getting a bit old. When things get difficult though, it's important to remember the end result and how supportive Keith has been over the past 8 months (well, since I've known him but especially during pregnancy) - he surprised me with some beautiful tulips the other day - too many to fit in one vase!
This past week we also took the Northside Hospital tour - that's when it all became super real for Keith and me! We were able to see how the process will work and where/when everything happens. Let's be real - we are super excited about the cappuccino and hot chocolate machine that's free to all hospital guests!
We also experienced our first 'technical difficulty' with baby prep - installing the car seat base. Let's just say it ended up taking over 2 hours because Keith's car manual didn't match up to what we were seeing in the backseat for the latch system. Of course, after some googling he was able to figure it out and install in under 5 minutes! :)
