A Very Merry Christmas

We had a very eventful Christmas season here in Atlanta!  In the midst of a crazy retail Christmas working at Target, I had my 24 week doctor's appointment.  Everything was good news - he's growing just as he should and was very active and moving around while the nurse was checking his heartbeat!

We started out the holidays with our 4th Annual Tacky Christmas Sweater Party.  As always, it was a hilarious event with good food, margaritas, laughs, and awesome white elephant gifts!

This year, Kelsey and Jordan won the contest with matching onesies!

Christmas Eve started off with the 4pm church service then our annual Croft/Bennett/Drucker/Slagle appetizers and white elephant gift exchange.  Our favorite gift?  Keith ended up with a baby Falcons Matt Ryan jersey for Connor!

As always, Matt wanted to be part of all festivities!

Christmas included sleeping in, opening some gifts at our house, and heading to the Slagle's home for more celebrating.  We made "huevos avocados," which is one of our favorite breakfast entrees - a healthier take on eggs benedict!  We then exchanged gifts and had a great time watching Christmas movies!

We aren't sure what baby Connor will be but we sure are excited to see!

Our journey started at the 2007 Florida/Georgia game in Jacksonville, Florida - it was love at first sight tailgate!  We kept in touch for a full year while Candace was a senior at the University of Florida and Keith was working as a CPA in Atlanta.  We had a long distance relationship for 9 months then Candace accepted a job with Target in Atlanta and moved to the peach state to be with Keith.  We got engaged on March 13, 2010 and married on October 2, 2010 in Edina, Minnesota, where Candace grew up.  

Later that year, we decided to expand our family - with a puppy!  Mattie (named after Matt Ryan, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback of course) was born on September 24 (same birthday as Candace's - easy for Keith to remember) and we got her when she was 6 weeks old.  Little did we know what she would teach us about patience and unconditional love! :)

After two years of marriage, we were excited to announce to friends and family that we are expecting a baby in April 2013!  At 6 weeks into the pregnancy, we were California-bound for Chip and Michelle's wedding.  Before we left, we went over to Keith's parent's home to drop off our dog for the weekend tell them the exciting news.  We gave them a fake "thank you" gift for dog-sitting - a frame that said "Grandkids" - when they opened it, we were greeted with a loud scream from Linda and tears of joy from Ed and Kyle!  When we got to California, it was time to tell the Snyder side so we told Charlie and Cathy right away with the same "Grandkids" frame - more tears of joy from everyone!

On November 1, we found out that we will be having a baby BOY!  If you know either of us, you know that we are very decisive - we had a name ready to go - Connor Russell Slagle.  Russell is Keith's maternal grandfather's name and he has been a great role model in his life so we are excited and honored to pass his name down to our little gentleman!
