Connor's First Easter!

It's crazy to believe that Connor turned 1 before he celebrated his first Easter!  I can remember back to last year when I was 9 months pregnant and could barely stand through the songs at church and now we have a crazy little boy running around!

Before Easter, we died Easter eggs - I didn't trust Connor with the dye (obviously!) so he had a fun time watching :)

Our Easter started out with a visit from the Easter bunny - Connor wasn't too into his whole Easter basket but he sure loved the big orange ball that was too big to fit inside.

Then we headed to church to celebrate the real meaning of Easter with my parents.  We had a delicious lunch with the Slagles followed by a long walk along the Chattahoochee!

Connor's First Birthday!

Connor turned 1 on Thursday 4/17!  He had lots of fun celebrating with family and friends on Thursday and at his party on Saturday!

On Wednesday, Grandma Cathy came down from Minnesota to spend a week with us - what a fun time we had with her!

On Thursday, Connor went to the doctor for his 12 month check-up and he's now 21 pounds!  He wasn't able to get his shots because he had a fever - what a great birthday gift from the nurse! :)  We celebrated Connor's actual birthday at El Jinete mexican restaurant- a Slagle family favorite for years.  Connor loved his chicken quesadilla, rice, and cupcake... but not the hat they put on him of course!
Here are some pictures of his actual 1st birthday:
The day started out a bit rough - CRABBY pants!!

He's starting to turn into a climber...

He decided he would rather push the box around than open and play with his new truck!

Maybe he's mad we wouldn't let him have a margarita?  20 more years, buddy :)

Not sure what to think!!

Of course he loved his first cupcake!

Friday, Pop Pop came down from Minnesota and we loved getting to catch up and hang out with him too!

On Saturday, we hosted family and friends for Connor's Nautical themed birthday party!  He was a little under the weather but a trooper with everyone around.  He's developed some "stranger danger" lately and seems to be unpredictable with who he does/doesn't like!  Connor had an anchor smash cake all to himself and was not into getting all dirty with it.  However, he loved the ice cream that came with it!  Naturally, he was more excited about the wrapping paper and bows than what was actually in his presents :)

Sunday, we celebrated Easter with our families - but that's the next blog post... when I get around to it!  Things are a bit crazy here with putting our house on the market and lots of orders to complete for The Orange Monogram!

Also - a bit late... but as of TODAY, 4/23, Connor is officially a walker!!  Grandma Cathy spent lots of time "coaching" (as she calls it) him to walk while she was here.  Sure enough, I drop her off at the airport and when I get home, he decides to walk across the whole living room - and didn't stop until he went to bed!  I guess it just took him a bit to digest her teaching methods :)

Here's a video of him walking... sorry it's so blurry!:

The Connor Adventures

This little guy has become quite adventurous this week!  He is all about throwing things - balls, food, toys, his sippy cup, you name it!  He has started to show an interest in walking and will only take steps if it involves chasing Mattie, our cockapoo dog.  Speaking of Mattie, these two are absolute best friends.  They frequently play fetch together and I'm convinced they have a secret agreement that Connor feeds her half of his food (not the veggies)!  He loves to babble - everything seems to be "dadadadada" - which daddy thinks is of course for him!  He continues to dislike most veggies and being fed by spoon.  He has started an obsession with rice, cottage cheese, bananas, hot dogs, and the occasional bite of ice cream.

Since the weather has gotten really nice out and my foot is healed, we have been on lots of walks and wagon rides - which all of us seem to enjoy!

Grandma Cathy is coming down soon to visit for a week for Connor's birthday and Easter - Pop Pop will be joining for some of it too!  Maybe Connor will start walking for them?!

Here's a video we took of him this morning - attempting a few steps with Mattie:
(Please excuse the toys he has destroyed thus far today in the background)

Here are a few photos of him lately - 11 months and 3 weeks - almost one year old!!!

Watching the Gator basketball final four game from mommy's baby rocking chair - pants optional :)

A little blurry but he got his floor puzzle tile stuck on himself and thought it was hilarious...

Want some cheese??
