Thanksgiving in Hilton Head

Our family had the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving week in South Carolina on Hilton Head Island with Connor's grandparents, Uncle Kyle, and Great Grandma/Grandpa Mueller!

Keith, Connor, and I had originally planned to go to Savannah for a few days before but Connor got diagnosed with the flu the day before were supposed to leave.

Sidenote: A sick baby is absolutely HORRIBLE!  For the first few days, he had a temperature over 103 and was unconsolable.  The only way to make him stop crying was to hold and rock him - especially during the night.  This was his first major sickness and I now understand when people say how hard it is to have a sick baby.  After about 5 days, he was back to his normal, happy self but still continues to have a cough and runny nose.  Needless to say, I realized this Thanksgiving how lucky we are to have a generally happy, healthy baby and for that I am so thankful!

Outside of Connor being sick, we had a blast in Hilton Head!  The Slagles rented a beautiful home on the island and we spent most of our time playing games, walking the beach, watching movies (girls) and football (boys), playing tennis, and being entertained by Connor.  He seemed to really enjoy being with everyone - and having his Great Grandparents show him how to crawl on the ground (which is still a work in progress)!

And of course, Keith and I did some Black Friday shopping!  What a joyful day when you do not have the stress of working retail! :)  I am also thankful that this year, I have been able to celebrate Thanksgiving with Keith's family and will be able to spend Christmas with my family in Minnesota.  This will be the first time in 4 years that we can do this, as I have worked retail at Target since I graduated college.  I am excited to celebrate Connor's first holiday season and get to experience all of the joy with him!

Here are some pictures from our week at the beach:

Gobble Gobble Baby!

Connor worked really hard on his crawling - but seems to mainly enjoy army crawling!

He loved playing on the ground with Great Grandpa Russell!

Playing with Great Grandma

Tired/sick baby

He loved being outside when the weather warmed up toward the end of the week!

Mattie slept most of the week on the back of the couch...

More playtime!

Entertaining everyone

It was pretty cold for most of the week - had to bundle up!

 Playing with Uncle Kyle!

He loves reading books before bed - for only a few pages then he tries to eat them

 Connor's first trip to the BEACH!

A little cold but we still managed to walk on the beach

He likes the beach!

We hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving and have safe travels back home!

7 Months!

Connor turns 7 months tomorrow!

He is growing and moving around like crazy.  He has pretty big feet - already in 12-24 month size socks!  Hopefully these boats will help him walk easier in a few months?  His eyes have turned brown and he has started to grow a little bit of hair, mainly on the back of his head.  His 3rd tooth is peaking through his gums on top, which is evident with his fussiness the past few days.

Connor currently loves:
* Sitting up on his own
* Laughing
* Following Mattie around
* Shoelaces
* Bananas and sweet potatoes
* Army crawling - everywhere
* Attempting to use his sippy cup, which usually ends up with him soaking wet!
* Screaming then laughing at himself
* Babbling - most popular sounds are "Dada", "Baba", "Blah Blah"

He is still a pretty happy baby (given that he is on his eating/sleeping schedule).

We have an exciting holiday season coming up and we are so excited to celebrate Connor's first Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year with both of our families!

Here are some pictures to show his growth at 7 months (which were hard to take because he is so squirmy... and please excuse the huge scratch he gave himself on his forehead!):

Happy Halloween!

Yesterday we celebrated Connor's first Halloween!  Keith and I had way too much fun picking out his costume and he was surprisingly a great sport while wearing it!

Halloween is also Grandma Linda's birthday so we had a fun time celebrating both holidays at their house.  Connor seemed to enjoy our walk around their neighborhood and showing off his monkey costume to family and friends.

Here are a few pictures of our little monkey (and of course our sheriff, Mattie):

We hope you and yours had a great Halloween and we can't wait to see your pictures!
