Atlanta Baby Shower

This past weekend, Mrs. Johnston and Mrs. Rodenroth threw Connor and me a beautiful, creative, and fun baby shower - complete with a photo booth and mashed potato bar!  It was so fun to see friends and family and to celebrate Connor's arrival!

I was so thankful that my mom was able to come down for the weekend to help celebrate, get our nails done, and go on a "shop-op," as we call it.  It was also super fun to see Keith's aunt Beth, cousin Amie, and (surprise!) cousin Sara!  Thank you so much for making the trip to (what was supposed to be warm/sunny but ended up being freezing) Atlanta, it was great to spend time with all of you!

Here are some pictures from the baby shower!

The dessert table was to die for - complete with Connor's name decorating the stairwell!

I loved the onesies hanging on the clothesline!  The food was amazing too - tomato soup, chicken wraps, spinach dip with veggies, and fruit (all my favorites!)

The favors were another of my favorites - frosted sugar cookies (in orange and blue!!)

Connor got extra spoiled with lots of cute gifts - clothes, travel system, bath necessities, blankets, shoes, everything a new baby needs!

Here is one of the pictures from the photo booth - with my Phi Mu Gator girls (I obviously agree with the chalkboard - future gator!!)

Last but not least, I stole this collage from Kelsey - it captured everything from the day!

Babies Require a Lot of Stuff!

It's true... new babies require a lot of stuff!  Which means that we have been on an organization kick so we don't have baby stuff all over our house.  Thanks to the advice from my friend and new mom Daniella, we made a trip to Ikea and had some great success!

This was a great Ikea find to help us fully utilize our second pantry closet in the kitchen - lots of space for Connor's bottles, formula, food, bibs, etc.

Another brilliant find - storage for inside his closet!

These are my favorite - colored drawers for storage in the changing table - the colors match his bedding perfectly - I couldn't resist!

I had my 32 week appointment this morning - baby Connor is doing great and was moving the whole time my doctor was measuring him and his heartbeat!  My doctor gave me information for birthing classes and the hospital tour - we will probably complete these in the next few weeks!  It's amazing how many different classes there are - thanks to my 6 years of lifeguarding, we can skip the infant CPR and safety :)

As for Keith and I, we are excited for our Valentine's date - dinner and the Clemson/Georgia Tech basketball game on Thursday night!

29-30 Weeks

Week 29 started out a bit rough for me - when we returned from Minnesota, I wasn't feeling well so I went to the doctor and found out I had a stomach virus.  When you're pregnant, they can't prescribe you much so you basically have to just tough it out - for 4 full days, yuck!

When I felt better, Keith and I washed and put together baby Connor's bedding that we received at the baby shower in Minnesota.  We also painted and hung his name above the crib - a project I figured would take 20 minutes that actually took 3 hours!  Here is what we have so far... it makes us more and more excited with each preparation we do!

As for Connor's progress, he is doing great!  I feel him kick/move/dance/punch all day everyday, it's such a crazy feeling!  According to my 'What to Expect When You're Expecting" app, he should be roughly the size of a butternut squash, 17 inches in length, and just over 3 pounds.  I will know exactly how he's growing at my appointment next week but so far he has followed the app almost exactly with size and weight.  I will start having doctor appointments every 2 weeks then every week leading up to the delivery.  Pretty soon, Keith and I will attend birthing classes and tour Northside Hospital (which, as crazy as it seems, was where my older brother Chad was born when my parents lived in Atlanta in 1985)!

As for next week, we are excited to have some visitors to Atlanta - my mom, Keith's aunt Beth, and cousin Amie for a fun-filled weekend, including a Baby Shower hosted by Mrs. Johnston and Mrs. Rodenroth!
