15 Months!

Connor turned 15 months a bit ago!  We celebrated, yet again, with a doctor's check-up and shots (what a lucky guy, huh)?  At his appointment, he weighed in at 21 pounds 13 ounces (40th percentile) and 31 3/4 inches tall (75th percentile).

Here is what he's been up to...
Fave Foods: Bananas, blueberries, grilled cheese, PB&J, scrambled eggs, french toast, cottage cheese, yogurt, hot dogs, grapes, Italian ice, rice
Words: Dada, Mama, Doggy, Bubbles, Shoes, Ball, Bye Bye.  It's hilarious listening to him learn new words because for a few days, they come out sounding like swear words :)
Fave Toys: Balls, books, bubble lawn mower, bubbles
Clothes: 12-18 months
Shoes: Just started in size 6 shoes
New Developments: Running (usually ends with a nice fall or literally running into something), climbing onto anything at his level, taking things out of drawers and cabinets and putting them in others ("re-organizing" or "redecorating"), flipping through books on his own, and drinking from a straw

We have been to the neigborhood a few times recently and he is being more and more comfortable (and daring) in the water!  He likes to put his face in the water... well, until he drinks too much water then he's over it!

We have been really busy turning our new house into our home.  We hired painters to do the downstairs painting and had some very generous friends (The Rodenroths and Ed) help us paint Connor's room and the guest room upstairs.  I have learned that I really don't like picking out paint colors - what a difference it makes when you get the color on all the walls!  We still have a few more rooms to do but we're holding off on those for a bit :)

Here are some recent photos of the little guy:

While Keith was out of town, Connor and I went to Chipotle - he obviously really enjoyed it :)

4th of July!

What a fun and refreshing 4th of July weekend we had!  We learned quickly that one of our neighbors puts on an amazing fireworks show and were able to enjoy it from our front yard and meet lots of our new neighbors!  Connor even made a friend that is a few months younger than him! :)

On the 5th, we hosted a party with some of our friends to show them the new house and let the kids get some energy out!  Special thanks to Jeff for taking some great photos!

Here are some photos from the 4th and 5th of July:

Nate was so helpeful with the lawn... and concrete :)

Connor was busy, busy, busy

Near impossible to get the 3 amigos to sit (much less, look!)

Thought this one was funny :)

Connor's favorite was the American flag pound cake that Jax brought - especially the whipped cream!

Here are some other photos that I look of Connor and Mattie playing in the backyard the other weekend:

New Home!

Wow - the past few weeks have been such a whirlwind!  We closed on our new home on June 19 and immediately started moving our stuff in.  Movers came on Saturday and they were absolutely amazing and speedy!  We closed on our old home on June 25 - what a relief and answer to many prayers for both homes to close quickly and smooth.

Connor has adjusted to the new home very well.  He seems to be sleeping a lot more because he is constantly running around his new play spaces!  Connor absolutely loves chasing around the dog, Mattie.  He loves her so much that "doggy" was his first official word - behind "dada" and "mama".  Now it seems that everything he points at is a doggy or ball!  We're trying to figure out how to get him to pet Mattie, rather than hitting her, jumping on her, or pulling her hair - quite the challenge but Mattie has been such a great trooper with him!  He seems to really love the pool, which is great for us to get lots of time outside!  We're near the front of the neighborhood so the pool is just a few minute walk away!

We have started lots of projects throughout the house to make it truly ours.  We started out by painting Connor's bathroom upstairs and quickly learned that we aren't the best painters and that painting takes a long time (especially when you have to pull down wallpaper first)!  We have several rooms left to paint but are going to take it slow since we can only paint while Connor is asleep!

We're also trying to keep all of the plants/grass alive!  Since we were in a townhome before where the HOA hired out the lawn work, we are learning slowly how to do outside things.  There are several fruits that grow in the backyard - grapes, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, apples, pears, and pecans.  Lots of delicious things to eat - let's just hope and pray we keep these things alive! :)

Here are some photos of the new house:

Play house on one side - storage shed on the other... Connor loves it!

He was scared of the slide at first... and now we can't keep him away!

Mowing the backyard...

We haven't taken many pictures yet - I'll most them as we finish off rooms... we're still a work in progress :)
