Pumpkin Patch + Mobile Baby!

Mobile Baby!

Connor has been trying to scoot for a few weeks but on Wednesday, 10/23, he really took off!  All of a sudden he started rolling and army crawling all over the place!  Needless to say, I got out the childproofing stuff and started to go to town!

Here's a video of him scooting recently:

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday, we went up to North Georgia with Keith's parents so pick out pumpkins and apples.  We first stopped at Burt's Pumpkin Farm where we picked out pumpkins, pumpkin bread, and enjoyed the cooler fall weather.  Connor seemed pretty interested in the pumpkins and loved touching them.  He was a bit off on his napping routine so he wasn't happy the entire time but we still had fun!  Then, we drove 15 minutes to BJ Reece Apple House where we bought apples and some great local produce.  There were tons of signs that advertised their fried apple pies so we all had to try them - they were absolutely unreal... definitely worth the drive!  When we returned, Keith and I carved our pumpkins and I must say... I didn't realize Keith's hidden talent!  His was way better than mine (skull and cross bones as opposed to my basic happy face) but that's okay - I'm sure Connor will out-do us both in the coming years.

Here are some pictures from our fall afternoon pumpkin adventure:

I may or may not have broken some of the rules :\

Not too excited about being in the wheel barrow with the big pumpkins!

This pumpkin bread was SO good!

Not many pictures from the apple orchard - we were on borrowed time with our little friend!

6 Months!

Thursday marked Connor's 6 month birthday!

I've decided that I absolutely love the 6 month age!  He is so animated and interacts with your every word and movement.  Connor keeps himself very busy - putting all toys in his mouth, starting to scoot, sitting up on his own, and watching our dog, Mattie - he laughs when she walks by.  Mattie is learning very quickly to not go too close to him because he will grab her hair and not let go!  He drinks 4 bottles a day and eats 3 meals of solids.  He still has just the two teeth on the bottom and loves to show them when he smiles... and screams/cries!

At his 6 month check-up on Monday, he had the following stats:
Weight: 17 pounds, 11 ounces (55th percentile)
Height: 27 inches (75th percentile)
Head: 17 inches (30th percentile)

Here are some pictures to show his growth progress at 6 months:

Grandma Cathy Visits + Punta Cana

We have had a crazy and fun two weeks here!  Grandma Cathy came down to visit for a few days before Keith and I left for Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.  As you may have guessed, when Grandma Cathy was here, we shopped until we dropped, walked many miles, and played tons!  With the expanding Snyder family (4 grandbabies) it is always fun to shop for the little ones!  Here are some pictures from her visit:

A sample of our shopping - mustache onesie and jeans!

Keith and I booked our trip to Punta Cana with our friends from Chicago (Annie and Mike) at the beginning of the summer and have been looking forward to it for a while - and we had absolute blast to say the least!  We stayed at the Majestic Colonial resort and spent most of our time in the pool, enjoying fruity drinks, laying out, reading, napping, and of course playing card games.  The weather was fabulous all but one day so we were very lucky!  Unfortunately, the food at the resort wasn't too great but no one got sick so that was a plus (different from our trip 2 years ago to Mexico)!  It was interesting at this resort... most of the employees didn't speak very much English so I got to use my Spanish, which made me realize how much I missed speaking it.  I did a horrible job with pictures, so here are the few that I took on my phone...

Adios Punta Cana

So happy to come home to a smiley baby!

While we were in the Dominican, Connor got extra spoiled and spent half of the week with Grandma Cathy then went to the Slagle's for the last half.  Both families reported back that he loved eating, sleeping, and playing.  Keith and I returned to a happy and rested baby - always a bonus! :)

Also - while we were gone, Connor had his 6 month birthday... that post will come when I get time to take his pictures :)

Georgia/Tennessee Game Trip

This past weekend we went to Knoxville for a bi-annual Slagle trip to see the Georgia vs. Tennessee game.  This year was a little bit different with a baby but everyone was more than accommodating with Connor!  We drove the 3 hours with the Slagles on Friday and Connor was great - but only for the first half... he chose to cry the second half - what a joy!  On Saturday, Keith and Ed went to the game while the girls and Connor stayed back at the Eldridge's house.  Tennessee put up a good fight but in the end Georgia won so the boys were happy.  The weekend concluded with a great trip back - sleepy and happy baby the whole way!!

Lately, Connor is sitting up more and more and starting to scoot a little bit.  He's eating 3 jars of baby food a day and down to 4 bottles.  He is absolutely fascinated by our dog, Mattie, and loves petting her and watching her walk around.

He loves putting his fingers in his mouth and biting with his two teeth!

Also - Grandma Cathy is coming tomorrow!  She'll be here for a week to hang out with us then watch Connor while we head down to Punta Cana for a little R&R!

More updates to come - Connor turns 6 months soon!!
